C2E2 2012

C2E2 was a blast. Took a 12 hour trip to Chicago with Bryan Tillman, Elvin Hernandez, and Kenny Hill. We passed the time by performing dramatic re-enactments of Robocop.

The con itself was great, my second large scale comics-oriented convention. It might just be me, but I think this convention was much more receptive to original creators (non-Marvel/DC). There were of course, lots of Deadpool and Poison Ivy cosplays, but I got the feeling there was genuine interest in the “new” here, which was a refreshing perspective. That, being said, my fan art prints sold out entirely, so maybe I’m just imagining things!

Thanks to everyone who visited my booth- it really made it an engaging and fun time. I also got to meet Skottie Young- talk about inspiration. I need to take a hint from his daily sketches, and start doing likewise. I also got to meet Lora Innes, author of The Dreamer. Thanks a bunch for the interview Lora, it really meant a lot to me!! There’s more to report, but give me a little more time to gather myself!

Website Neglect

I haven’t given up. I’ve just been lazy updating. Plenty of stuff happening behind the scenes- a couple more conventions under the belt, a little more planning, lots of planning. A print run. A submission to Diamond Distribution to try and get the comic into stores. Teaching again. A whole month of conventions this April. And somewhere in between all this, Chapter 2 (and 3, depending on how I split it up) is written and boarded, and begging me to draw and color it. Oh- I’m on deviant art too. Check it out for some fan art. And if you send a few comments my way, you can guilt me into updating more often. Just saying. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.
